This morning, the First International Palm Tree Contest of Orihuela was presented, which will take place on October 15 in the BIC environment.

Any person of legal age can participate in the contest, which will be held throughout that day. The themes of the paintings will be exclusively those related to the Palmeral de Orihuela, being their interpretation free. Various pictorial techniques may be used such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed media. But in no case will the use of photography be allowed, neither as a background nor as a collage element.

As for the supports, they must be rigid, free-format except in their size, which must have a maximum of 1.20 m x 1.20 m, with the necessary installation of the hanging system for the exhibition if selected. Likewise, they will be presented blank, or with a preparation of a single color and homogeneous texture, for its obligatory sealing and numbering by the organization. With regard to materials, each participant must be provided with the necessary material to carry out the work, including the easel on which the work will be displayed for the selection.

The initiative has been organized by the Environment Department of the Orihuela City Council and is sponsored by Actúa Servicios y Medio Ambiente SL and the collaboration of the Orihuela School of Art and Superior Design (EASDO) and the presentation was attended by the councilor of the Environment, Patricia Menárguez, the technical director of Actúa, Daniel Puchol and the technician Ruth Velázquez, as well as the director of the EASDO, Juanjo Pérez, and the Deputy Director, Maribel García.
